Squaw Peak Trail is a dirt road for high clearance vehicles that traverses the mountain side east of Provo, Utah from Provo Canyon down to Hobble Creek Canyon near Springville, Utah.

On this trip, we took our GMC Envoy and bent the passenger's side running board on a rock as we climbed up to where we camped for the night. We started from the Springville side and climbed up to a small parking lot where we camped. I've never been further north from that point, so I cannot speak for the conditions of the trail north of there.

We had a great view into Utah Valley, specifically Spanish Fork. Near our campsite was some of the terracing that was completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal Project between 1933 and 1942.

I was able to hang my hammock between the roof rack of the GMC and a fence post that marks the boundaries of the small dirt parking lot we camped in.
