Cobble Cave

Cobble Cave

Northern Utah—Spanish Fork Canyon

Cobble Cave's turn-off is just over 10 minutes from the Spanish Fork windmills and is the same dirt road off US-6 that leads you to Crumbling, Seahorse, and Trot Me Not canyons.

Located immediately off US-6, Cobble Cave has a very steep and gravelly approach trail that climbs about 250 feet very quickly. It's one of those take a step up, slide down a half step kind of climbs. Once you get up to a spot where you can breach the cliffs, you head along the cliffs until you get to the canyon. There is some webbing on a tree that adds an unnecessary rappel as it's easily down-climbable to the anchor that's around a heavy old beam wedged in the canyon. It's very short and really only has one drop from the anchor. It does have a few shallow ledges and a couple of free hang rappels.

What to Expect
  • This route requires standard technical gear.
  • You can usually expect dry conditions.
  • Competent and smaller groups (4±) typically complete the route in under three hours
In my opinion, this route was okay but is probably not a destination on its own.
