Reaching over 11,000 feet in south central Utah, Boulder Mountain makes up half of the Aquarius Plateau, the largest wooded plateau in the United States.

Boulder Mountain rises west of Capitol Reef National Park and north of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and is within Dixie National Forest. Bluebell Knoll is the highest point on Boulder Mountain (11,317 ft / 3449 m).
